Erwin, TN: Michelle + John's Beauty Spot Engagement Session

The Beauty Spot is a gorgeous little area nestled in the Unaka Mountains of Erwin and has quickly become one of my favorite spots in East Tennessee! I love how close it is to Johnson City, but still offers amazing views of the mountains, access to the Appalachian Trail and of course, incredible sunsets!

I first met Michelle last summer after she contacted me about shooting her wedding! She has been friends with my husband for years and found my work through him. We met up for coffee to discuss the details of her wedding and I immediately knew that we would mesh together! One of my favorite things about meeting people is getting to know their different styles of humor and Michelle has one of the best kinds! These two live and work in Nashville, but traveled to Johnson City to visit family and meet up for their engagement session.

Michelle told me that she loved the look of open fields, so I thought the Beauty Spot would be a perfect place to shoot! When we arrived, Michelle was wearing a gorgeous, mustard yellow, dress that just so happened to match the little yellow flowers that were scattered everywhere! We laughed, danced, explored around the trail and got to see one of the best sunsets that I've ever witnessed in Tennessee (and I'm really not over exaggerating). I also loved hearing the story behind Michelle's engagement ring- it was Johnny's great grandmother's ring! It was truly a perfect evening in the mountains!
