Johnson City, TN: Kelsey + Eric's Cold Winter Lakeside Engagement Session
We met up back in January for Kelsey and Ericโs engagement session while they were in town visiting their venue. At the time, they had planned on getting married in May, but thanks to Covid, they had to reschedule their big day for September. Because Kelsey and Eric were in town for a brief weekend, we had to squeeze in their engagement session on one of the coldest days of the year, but these two were troopers and dressed for the occasion.! We explored one of our local lakes here and were even lucky enough to get some snowflakes. They even brought their two dogs Kona and Bailey (who I absolutely love)!
The Camp at Buffalo Mountain: Fall Mini Sessions Day
Mini sessions have become such a popular part of the photography industry! Theyโre usually held around popular holidays like Thanksgiving/Christmas (Christmas cards) and Valentineโs Day/Easter, etc! In my years of being a professional photographer, I somehow never held a day of mini-sessions, but have seen how popular theyโve become. This past year, I thought it would be a great chance to dip my toes in the water and see what mini-sessions were all about! I asked my very good friends at The Camp at Buffalo Mountain if I could come on a Sunday in October and host mini-sessions at their beautiful venue
Independence, VA: Luke + Caroline's Virginia Countryside Family Farm Engagement Session
I had such a blast at Luke and Caroline's engagement session in August! These two are just so much fun to be around and bring out the best smiles in each other. When we finally found a date that would work for all of us we decided to meet up on Luke's family farm in Independence, Virginia! Let me tell you- it was an adventurous photographer's paradise! I love it my couple's share a little bit of their life with me and such special locations! We spent the evening riding through the cow fields in the farm truck, taking in the beautiful Virginia sunset. I absolutely cannot wait for their wedding in October at the gorgeous Camp at Buffalo Mountain!
Staunton, VA: Josh & Lyndsey's Charming In-Home & Countryside Engagement Session
I recently visited Staunton, Virginia to shoot Josh and Lyndsey's home engagement session and celebrate! Lyndsey is a dog trainer and photographer, so I thought it was fitting that we incorporate her pups Warden, Josie, and Dot in the photos! We had a great time shooting in Lyndsey's cute little house and chasing the sunset in her backyard! We hiked through a cow pasture where a ginormous tree provides shade and up the hills to a breathtaking view of the Virginia Blue Ridge.
Boonsboro, MD: Our Appalachian Trail Proposal at Annapolis Rocks
Andrew and I's proposal-aversary is on the 26th, so I thought it would be fun to share about our own adventurous proposal! Andrew proposed to me at one of my favorite places (ever) on the Appalachian Trail- Annapolis Rocks. The outcropping overlooking Boonsboro has a special place in my heart for a lot of reasons- it was the perfect place to propose. This is our story!
Erwin, TN: Michelle + John's Beauty Spot Engagement Session
The Beauty Spot is a gorgeous little area nestled in the Unaka Mountains of Erwin and has quickly become one of my favorite spots in East Tennessee! I met up with Michelle and John for their engagement session and we had the best evening in the mountains. We laughed, danced, explored around the trail and got to see one of the best sunsets that I've ever witnessed in Tennessee (and I'm really not over exaggerating).
Mouth of Wilson, VA: Alexis + John Michael's Foggy Grayson Highlands Engagement Session
Alexis and John Michael are getting married on Roan this Summer! These two first met when they were younger, but fell in love when they saw each other at the same rock climbing gym. He's a carpenter and she's a biology major, and they couldn't be more perfect together. We met up at Grayson Highlands State Park for their engagement session and had an amazing time despite the crazy weather!
