Limestone, TN: Renita + Nate's Rustic Country Wedding at the Millstone
36° 15' 57'' N 82° 37' 40'' W
Renita and Nate are husband and wife! You may have seen their Grayson Highlands engagement session previously on the blog and have heard me talk about just how sweet and laid-back these two are. As soon as I met with Renita and heard about their wedding, I had basically been counting down to the day. I knew it would be beautiful and such a special day to be a part of.
A running theme of wedding season this year has been the constant threat of rain, and it was no different for these two. You can probably see the ominous clouds in the photos, but we lucked out and had a sunny and breezy evening for their wedding day. Renita and Nate didn't want a huge wedding, so they opted for an intimate celebration with their closest family members at the Millstone (a local venue recently featured on LooksLikeFilm). Nate and his family actually live just a mile down the road from the venue, so Renita knew it would be the perfect location for them to get married.
Renita got ready inside the beautiful bridal cabin at the Millstone and met Nate for a first look on the brick patio in front of the water wheel. Nate's grandfather had requested that a few photos of the newlyweds be taken at his house just down the road, so we loaded up and headed to his place! As we drove down the tree lined driveway, I oohed and ahhed at the beautiful scenery and asked Renita and Nate if they wanted to take couple's portraits there before the ceremony! Being such a special place to them and their family they, of course, said yes! We explored Nate's grandfather's property and took photos amongst the fields of hay and their pond. We heard a few rumbles of thunder in the distance, but no raindrops were felt! We then headed back to the Millstone for family photos and the ceremony.
Renita and Nate walked down the aisle together and met the officiant, Renita's dad, Reub! I thought it was so special that the father of the bride was also the officiant! After reading their vows to each other, Renita and Nate exchanged rings. We all laughed when Renita accidentally started putting Nate's ring on his right hand, insted of his left! They then kissed for the first time as husband and wife and lead the way to the reception for delicious barbecue, pies, and cupcakes!
Nate & Renita - I am oh so happy for you two! Thank you for asking me to be a part of your intimate celebration. I love your genuine, laid-back personalities and love for coffee! Can't wait to go hiking with you two in the future!
