Homestead on the Holston: Canoe Free Spirit Bohemian Styled Elopement
I’m a part of a wonderful local networking group full of creative entrepreneurs called TuesdaysTogether! Thanks to our community, I was lucky to meet Tricia Mosier of Elizabeth Dean Styled Events, who invited me to take part in a one-of-a-kind styled shoot that she was putting together! We all gathered at the beautiful Homestead on the Holston, a historic cabin venue with lots of land next to the north fork of the Holston River, and photographed the set ups that Tricia had designed— a “Notebook” canoe, a picnic blanket dinner, a bridal chair, and a bohemian tee pee complete with hanging cake display! Definitely a shoot for the record books and one you won’t want to miss!
Bristol, VA: Coby + Gretchen's Intimate Woodsy Wedding at Sugar Hollow Park
I arrived at Sugar Hollow Park in Bristol early that morning to see the ceremony site set up next to the creek at the campground and the trees were shading the chairs perfectly. After Coby and Gretchen exchanged vows, rings and the first kiss, they were finally husband and wife! After the ceremony, I took Coby and Gretchen around Sugar Hollow Park on a mission to find the infamous, “Black Forest,” that has pine trees in symmetrical lines, for portraits. When we arrived back to the campground and pavilion everyone had barbecue for lunch from Bristol BBQ. After cutting the cake, we all jumped into the creek to cool off, where, of course, I HAD to get some portraits of Gretchen and Coby in the water!
Warm Springs, VA: Josh + Lyndsey's Chilly November Wedding at the Old Dairy
Josh and Lyndsey were married on one of the coldest fall days at the beautiful Old Dairy in Warm Springs, Virginia. They're both nature lovers, and Lyndsey has a deep love for agriculture and the Shenandoah Valley, so it made for the perfect backdrop for their wedding! It may have been a high of 30º, but these two cozied right up for their portraits together. Lyndsey also incorporated her passion for dogs and had her two closest pups as her flower girl and ring bearer! Once the rings were exchanged and vows sealed with the first kiss, we all headed to the reception for dinner, drinks, and casual conversation in the barn!
