Sugar Hollow Retreat: Alexis + Alec’s Rainy Smoky mountain wedding in Butler, Tennessee
By now, I'm no stranger to rainy wedding days and have really grown to love how magical they can be! Alexis and Alec's wedding day at Sugar Hollow Retreat in Butler, Tennessee was no exception to that!
Everyone gathered in the misty mountains to surround Alexis and Alec with love as they became husband and wife!
After everything became official, the rain subsided and gave us the most beautiful fog over the mountains. We took a few more portraits with the beautiful backdrop, then danced the night away under the twinkle lights at the reception.
Greenwood Oaks Farm + Venue: Summer Garden, Retro Vintage and Boho Inspired Styled Wedding Shoot
Greenwood Oaks Farm + Venue is such a gem in the heart of Greeneville, Tennessee! Since their opening in 2020, they’ve been on my bucket list of venues to visit and work with! Their property is truly stunning and has so much to offer from their rustic ceremony sites, to the modern reception space, views of the mountains, flower fields, and of course, their beautiful pond!
Last year, when Meredith and Daniel (owners of Greenwood Oaks), reached out to me to see if I wanted to come together with them and Holly Davis of Menu Venue Events (amazing wedding planner and stylist) and create a fun, styled, photo shootout with local photographers, I jumped at the opportunity!
The Pond House, Erwin, TN: A Bright + Bohemian Summer Wedding Styled Shoot in the Tennessee Mountains
Summer is in full swing over here in Northeast Tennessee and I am absolutely loving it! It has me reminiscing back on this beautiful styled shoot that I was able to organize with some of the best wedding vendors here in Johnson City, Tennessee!
Full transparency— last year, I felt myself feeling quite burnt out. It comes and goes in waves and usually when creatives are stressed out or doing things repetitively. To help fight the burnout and increase creativity, photographers will often try to get out of their normal rhythm and will shoot something for themselves or start personal projects. For me, I had never set up my own styled shoot— I had only attended ones organized and created by others. This was definitely a bit out of my comfort zone, but was such a fun experience!
