This day and this couple. I have been dreaming about Ashley and Logan’s wedding day since I met Ashley for coffee and it was truly magical!
Logan and Ashley became husband and wife at one of the newest venues in our area— the Waterstone Venue! The Waterstone has such a unique design and vibe— complete with a hobbit house bridal suite, treehouse groom’s suit, and a lakeside ceremony spot with a roaring waterfall. You can see why it has quickly become one of my favorite places (it’s right up my outdoors-loving alley)! Even though it was mid-September, their day was partly sunny and almost 90 degrees! The day was humid and hazy, but that didn’t keep Ashley and Logan from having the most amazing wedding day!
Just as I arrived at the hobbit house to start capturing Ashley’s dress and details, the girls had just popped a bottle of champagne and had the music blasting as everyone got ready! I just knew it was going to be a great day! The guys had been on the lower lawn tossing cornhole and eventually made their way into the A/C of the treehouse to get their suits on. After Ashley put on her dress and jewelry, she came out of the bedroom to show her bridesmaids her dress for the first time. This was the first of many occasions during the day where there were happy tears. Soon after, Ashley’s dad came up to the hobbit house for a super special father's first look. It is so evidently clear just how much he loves Ashley.
The sun had just started to descend over the trees as we all gathered lakeside for the ceremony. As I stood at the front of the aisle, I could see Logan quickly letting the emotions of the day rise and the tears started streaming down his face at his first sight of his beautiful bride. I was tearing up, myself, as Ashley and her dad walked down the aisle. I don’t think there was a dry eye among us. Rings and vows were exchanged and Ashley and Logan became husband and wife! We then explored the grounds for portraits and headed to the tent for the reception— which held it’s own surprise! Ashley had told me a few days before the wedding about her plans for her father-daughter dance, but said that it was going to be a surprise for everyone else! They started out the dance as a “normal” father-daughter dance, but then quickly busted into a choreographed routine that they had practiced through a slew of fun songs! Everyone was cheering and laughing! We then danced the night away as the dj mixed songs throughout the night, making their own night-club vibe.
Ashley and Logan- congratulations!! I am SO incredibly happy for you two. Your day was such a beautiful day and one for the records. It has been such an honor to capture your love and to get to know you two and your families along the way.
Special shoutout to my friend and second shooter, Jeremy Gouge, for helping me all day!
